Manufacturing Controller

Job Description

Warady & Davis LLP, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, is assisting one of our clients, a leading manufacturer of medical waste remediation equipment based in Chicago and with a manufacturing and development office in Boston, who is currently seeking to hire a hands-on Controller with excellent problem solving and management skills. This person will work directly with owners and have the opportunity to interact with investors, vendors and other professional advisors.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, organized individual with strong verbal and written communication skills and superior analytical skills.

Manufacturing Controller Duties & Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Prepare the annual budget with regular financial reports to senior management.
  • Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and other report requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, quarterly financial reports and financial trends in order to assist management in performing their responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and conduct formal meetings to review business results and variance vs. plan.
  • Ensure compliance with all Corporate Policies and Procedures, GAAP and FASB pronouncements.
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures necessary to maintain general accounting records in compliance with accounting standards and ensure internal accounting controls and services.
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the accounting/ finance department.
  • Evaluate the finance/accounting structure and plan for continual improvement.
  • Oversee the general accounting system, manage the month and year-end close processes, and assist with the external audit process as necessary.
  • Oversee and evaluate accounting systems/NetSuite software
  • Ensure the proper processing of all payables and receivables
  • Reconcile all intercompany accounts monthly
  • Administration of the payroll process
  • Evaluate and recommend insurance coverage for potential liabilities.
  • Oversee the Human Resource functions including HR compliance matters including: 401(k), benefits negotiation, payroll reporting, etc.
  • Assist in the contract management process, relating to compensation/employee agreements.
  • Assist management in the preparation and review of existing and potential leases
  • Manage the banking relationship
  • Assist in the completion of special projects, as assigned.

Manufacturing Controler candidates will have at least 5-10 years relevant experience. 

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA Preferred.
  • Expertise in the design and use of general ledger and related financial systems – NetSuite Experience a required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and collaborative skills
  • A positive “can-do” entrepreneurial attitude, with great attention to detail and problem solving
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Software (Word and Excel)
  • Proven ability to manage and develop staff

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 – $135,000.00 per year
